Methodology & Data Sources
The EMA rule is the focus. TradingView renders the lines; you check the alignment.
The IsItBullish EMA rule
The chart loads three exponential moving averages, calculated by TradingView from closing prices, with lengths 10, 20 and 50. Under this site’s method, a bullish alignment requires both 10 EMA > 20 EMA and price > 50 EMA. Bearish requires both 10 EMA < 20 EMA and price < 50 EMA; mixed or equal conditions are neutral / transition. These are definitions for this method, not universal market facts.
On 1D each period is a daily candle; on 1H each period is an hourly candle. For a completed-bar check, compare the completed candle’s close and EMA values. The current candle can change. The page shows a visual guide and does not extract or automatically classify indicator values from the embed.
What the optional gauge represents
TradingView’s Technical Analysis summary combines moving-average and oscillator ratings for the selected timeframe. Its labels range from Strong Sell to Strong Buy. The gauge is not our original two-condition EMA formula, an analyst consensus, a probability or a personalized recommendation.
For the current calculation and constituent indicators, read TradingView’s Technical Ratings documentation.
Data source and availability
Charts and ratings load directly through official TradingView embeds. We do not fetch Yahoo Finance data, supply a separate quote feed or extract values from those widgets. A symbol may be delayed, restricted or unavailable depending on its exchange. Read the widget’s market-status and delay labels.
See TradingView’s widget data FAQ for availability limits.
What the controls do
The 1D, 4H and 1H buttons update the EMA chart and any expanded optional rating. The three EMA lengths remain 10, 20 and 50 across timeframes. Native controls inside the chart can change that chart without changing the gauge. To synchronize them again, choose a different site timeframe and then return to your desired interval.
Open candles and market sessions
The current bar can change until it closes, so its rating may change too. Stocks have market sessions; crypto pairs trade continuously. Check the venue and chart timezone before comparing daily candles.
Browser storage and shared links
Watchlists and recent tickers are stored on your device. Share links contain a ticker and, where selected, a timeframe. The preview image is static branding, not a snapshot of a live rating.
